Description
Presque Isle is a vehicle-accessible “island” (really a peninsula) located in Marquette. I lived in Marquette when I was going to college and I can honestly say that I went here almost every single day… even for just a quick drive. It is the northern tip of Marquette and features 323 acres with lots of foot-trails, beach areas, restrooms, picnic areas, and a playground area with swings, slides, and a merry-go-round. While not all areas are “toddler-friendly”, there is plenty to explore with your little ones.
There is also wildlife on Presque Isle! In the pictures below, you will see a deer that walked right up to my car!! I also included a picture of me and a couple friendly jumping off of the infamous Blackrocks. If you plan to jump, I highly recommend doing it in the summer. It was 35 degrees that day and it was freezing!
If you find yourself in Marquette, you have to stop here. It is known at the crown jewel of the city.
***There are no dogs allowed outside. I used to drive my dog around the park but never let him out of my vehicle!
