Top 10 Kid-Friendly Indoor Activities In Port Huron

The winter months can be difficult with little ones.  It’s hard to find indoor places to take them so they can have fun. Here are some places in the Port Huron area that may break that cabin fever or gloomy rainy day:

Arcadehouse is a fairly new addition to the Port Huron community. It features tons of games that keep the children distracted and may even bring some nostalgic memories of your childhood back to the forefront. This place also has great food if you are looking for a place to eat!

BWJZ is located in Birchwood Mall. I was surprised the first time I walked in. I don’t recall the old Hollister being so big! There are five bounce houses and a nice eatery where you can get all the classic toddler snacks. This place is guaranteed to keep your young ones happy. My 6-year old nephew and 2-year old daughter both had a blast here!

Discovery City is a hands-on Port Huron themed museum. It is a really cool place to explore. These types of children’s museums make us adults feel comfortable letting our toddlers be toddlers in public.

Kid City is perfect for your little toddlers. We booked a private playdate for my daughter and her cousin. They were both under two at the time. They had a lot of fun exploring the little child-size city! There were lots of fun things to get their hands on!

I just love the Birchwood Mall. I grew up around here and this was the go-to mall for us. We all know how malls are a dying breed these days. Birchwood has done a great job figuring out how to stay relevant. Lots of places here transformed from retail to entertainment. The carousel holds so many memories for me and I make sure my daughter rides it every time we visit. Not only do they have the awesome carousel and Blue Water Jump Zone, there is also a karaoke room, virtual reality area, arcade games, coin-operated rides, and the classic play area for toddlers.

The YMCA offers open swim Mon, Wed, Fri from 4pm – 8pm. No membership? No biggie. A day pass to swim is $10. They also offer programs for children. They are worth checking out!

Port Huron Lanes is a classic bowling alley in Port Huron. There is open bowl but unfortunately their website says to call ahead for dates and times. I remember having lots of fun here when I was a child! They also offer a nice birthday party package!

I spent a lot of time here as a child. My brother was a hockey player and sometimes I felt like this place was a second home to me. They offer open skate on the weekends. Fri-Sun for $5! Skate rental is an extra $2. They also offer a Learn to Skate class! Your little ones must be at least two years old. It is $40 for four sessions! You have to enroll at PHHockey.com

Family Fun and Skate is not located right in Port Huron but I still wanted to include it because it isn’t that far of a drive and is worth it! There is open skate on the weekends and you can either rent or bring your own skates or blades!

All American Flames offers a variety of classes for your little ones. There are classes for 18mo-3yrs, 3-4 yrs, and a 5 and under class. These classes are all four-week programs. If you are not sure on committing to a program and just want to drop in with your little one, they offer open gym for 6 years and under on Mondays 11:30-12:30 and Thursdays 12:00 – 1:00.
